September Grape Harvest 2010

Sheila sets to work

Laci and Feri hard at work.

Breakfast by the counter - thank you Jayne and Laci for all your help with our harvest!

Busy hands at work.
Our grapes were ripe and perfect for picking. Laci and Jayne organised the 'troops' and even brought breakfast for everyone. The sun shone and the grapes were picked and taken to Laci's cellar in BalatonEdrics where they are now safely in the barrel waiting for that first glass. Sadly, I missed it all as I was teaching!

September Cats On Our Hungarian Hill

It's a peaceful life for the Hillside Cats. Arnie the FlowerPot Cat, meditates in the sunshine and Cuki sunbathes on the front path.

.

Curly cats share a rare moment of togetherness in the armchair.

SnowTime

This was the scene a week or so ago on our little hill. When the sun came out, it was so beautiful, just like being in a Christmas card. If only we didn't have to go anywhere in this weather, it would be wonderful! A reindeer sleigh would be perfect!

Balloon landing on our hill

Most early evenings we can see the balloon that carries tourists on trips around the area. Sometimes it even lands in the fields next to us.Posted by Picasa

Cutting Edge Design Comes to the House on the Hill

From final design project to Formica's exhibition seating, Josh Fischer's stylishly transformed chools now grace the newly designed front garden of our hungarian hilltop house. Comfortable, practical and with a weather proof chestnut stain rather than pale lilac formica - they set off the new garden hide away perfectly!

Thank you Andy for all your hard work - although I didn't taste the pork and sausage stew, it looked and smelled delicious! And of course it's always nice to watch others cook! SumegCastleJune2010

Finally after endless wind and rain, the sun is out for our drive through the green hungarian countryside to see the sights of Sumeg. We fearlessly climbed to the top and paid a fortune to go into the ramparts, not quite Carcassone but the views are stunning. Looking around at the hungarian plains with the volcanic peaks popping up and the neat little houses and gardens below. We found a pretty restaurant with pond, flowers, dove cot and lots of happy diners and enjoyed wonderful wine and food to end lovely visit.
